Pioneer Day

This week I decided that I wanted to get out of the house.  I have been going crazy lately with this heat keeping us cooped up inside, so this week Kylie and I did a lot of activities together.

On Tuesday morning we first went to to Jiffy Lube and got an oil change.  It took forever, but Kylie had a blast running around the waiting room and eating all the popcorn and flooding the floor by holding down the water dispenser thingy.  When our car finally got it's turn to get it's oil change, Kylie really started freaking out.  She watched the whole thing through the windows, and was just crying and pointing and very upset at what these people were doing to our car.  It was funny to see how possessive she was of our car.

Afterwards we went over to Jumpin' Jacks to play.  She had so much fun running around and jumping.

On Wednesday I decided to take her to the parade that morning to celebrate Pioneer Day.  At first she was unsure about what was going on, but she caught on pretty quick to clap and wave at all the people coming past.  And the kids around us were really nice and shared the candy they got with her because she was never quick enough to get any.

Afterwards we went over to the little carnival they had.  I was hoping she would have fun and that it wouldn't be too stressful, but I discovered that an activity like this was definitely a two adult job (Brandon was a work).  After walking around and seeing what they had, Kylie decided she really wanted to do the bounce house.  So we got into the super long line.  And that is when the headache started because Kylie does not have patience or understand lines or taking turns yet, so she kept crying and pointing at the bounce house for the full 15 minutes we were in line.  When we finally got our turn she loved it and had a lot of fun.  Then came the time to get out, and of course she wouldn't come out, so I had to climb into the tiny one foot opening to drag her out and she was very upset.  It was all downhill from there.  I got her a balloon, and that cheered her up for 5 seconds, and then we got a scone which kind of calmed her down for a few minutes.  Then we had to leave, because by then I think Kylie was hot and tired and worn out.  It was a very stressful walk back to the car to say the least...

Thursday we had a fun playdate at a park with our friends Kennedy and Acadia (and their mom Kristelle :)  ).  So you can see, I dragged poor Kylie around for several days and just wore her out.  On top of the fun stuff there were also some shopping trips and swimming time as well, so now I am officially worn out too!
