Merry Christmas Part 2

Once again it has been a very busy and exciting week.  We started it last Tuesday with Christmas day with the Hansen family.  Grandpa Pete got many great pictures of our Christmas morning.

We all got many wonderful gifts, but I think Kylie's favorite by far is the tent with a tunnel Grandma and Grandpa gave her.  Once we set it up she just had a blast playing in it.

The rest of the day was spent playing with our new toys and enjoying the holiday.

Wednesday morning Kylie and I went to play with my cousin Marie and her little girl Carsen.  Kylie just loves playing with other kids, especially when it involves new toys to play with!  She and Carsen got along fairly well - Kylie liked to imitate Carsen, and then when she got comfortable she started exploring a little more.  They were cute together and I am glad we got a chance to play!

Thursday was a big Grandma Shari day.  Kylie stayed and played with her all day while the rest of us went to see The Hobbit.  We enjoyed our movie, just as Kylie enjoyed playing all day with Grandma!

Friday morning Kylie got to hang out with the boys while the girls went to see Les Miserables (two epic movies in a row!).  I came home to her napping on Brandon all cute and snugly.  Then we got to spend the afternoon and evening with Grandma Tess and Uncle Tommy!  We made some candies and then we went to the mall for dinner at Red Robin.  While waiting for our seats we wandered around and Kylie played in the kids area (where she always has a blast following all the other kids around), and then we all decided to ride the carousel.  This was a smaller one than the one a few weeks back that Kylie rode on, and she did a lot better this time.  I strapped her on and rode on the horse beside her, and by the end of the ride I had her saying "Whee!"

Saturday was our last day up north, and we sure packed it full!  In the morning we went up to the Da Vinci Exhibit up in Salt Lake.  It was very interesting, but there wasn't much for Kylie to do.  At least she played with some of Leonardo Da Vinci's experiments with Brandon.

There were some other exhibits to go explore, and Kylie had a bit more fun there.  She played with a green screen for a bit, and the area was safer for her to run around.  She really didn't care much for looking at things as much as making friends with all the other kids being toted around in their strollers.  She had this whole conversation with one little girl!  It was quite cute.

Kylie fell asleep in the car on the way to lunch at Benihana's.  Grandma Shari held her until she woke up halfway through the meal, and then she was so content to watch our chef prepare our food right in front of us.  It was really cool to watch.

Thanks to Grandma Shari for sharing her pictures that she took that day!  I am really good at taking my camera and then leaving it in the car :)

As soon as we got home we were off again to spend our last evening with Grandma and Grandpa Hansen.  Kylie basically ran around while Grandma Tess and I did a project and Brandon slept.  After dinner, though, Uncle Tommy arrived with some friends, and for at least an hour I did not see Kylie.  She just joined their group like she was one of the gang and had so much fun playing with them.  They were so nice to play with her!  Once we caught her Grandpa Pete did a wonderful photoshoot of Kylie in the outfit that Aunt Kendra got for her in China.

On Sunday we spent the morning packing and then left after lunch.  We were sad to go; we have had such a fun time visiting with family for the past two weeks!  But it's time to get back to our old, boring lives and schedules.  Sunday evening I tried putting Kylie down to bed, but she was so used to her late 11 PM bedtime that she didn't go down until 10:30.  And it was a struggle because she had gotten used to sleeping in our bed, not her crib.  In fact, she spent half of the night in our bed!  Monday night she at least went to bed at 8:30.  Since I am writing this Monday night, I have yet to find out if this night will be as bad...

We had some wonderful holidays and can't wait for the year to come!  Happy New Year!
