Phone Call

I have been noticing this week that Kylie is talking a lot more!  She is starting to imitate us more and is constantly talking, sometimes looking expectantly at us for an answer to whatever question she posed to us.

Kylie has finally figured out phones, too.  Before, she loved to play with them and push the buttons, and lately has been play talking on them, but as soon as you put her on an actual phone call with someone, she just stares at the phone.  Now, however, she just loves to talk back.  In fact, it is a struggle to get my phone back when she starts talking to Brandon on it!

One day this week she found my iTouch, and instead of playing it, like normal, she started using it as a phone.  Apparently it was a very funny conversation, because she laughed a lot!

This week we got Kylie a leash.  Haha, that sounds just awful, doesn't it?  Well, Kylie is a very excitable and hyper child, and she just loves to run everywhere and get into everything whenever we go somewhere, but we hate having to hold her the whole time and have her miss out on the experience. This way she will be able to walk around still, and we won't have to worry too much about her wandering off and breaking something (like she inevitably always does!).  We haven't used it yet, but Kylie just loves to wear it.  She runs around and just laughs at the "leash" part that chases her.

One afternoon we cleaned up all of Kylie's toys, and just decided to put Kylie in her toybox so she would be in a better position to play with all of them.  Being buried in her toybox was exciting and new for her, and she sat like this for a good twenty minutes before she unburied herself!

Kylie has also found a new hiding place: inbetween the fridge and wall.  It's a tight fit, but Kylie likes to play peek-a-boo in that spot.

Thankfully the weather is a little warmer this week so we were able to go out and play some more.  Kylie is very good at getting me out of my comfort zone by walking up to new people and making friends.  I have met many people (and dogs!) in our neighborhood just because of Kylie's outgoing personality.  I just love it!

  1. Becca I just love all the fun things you share. We had leashes for our kids. It was a lifesaver with Kelsey when we would go places. She would love to wander off. If you ever take her to amusement parks or Disneyland it is so helpful. I absolutely loved her conversation on the bed. That was hilarious. Keep up the great work for us Grandmas.

  2. That is so funny. Carsen went through a talking on the phone phase too. She has kind of grown out of it now, though she does still love to talk to me on the phone or via FaceTime.

We talked about getting a "leash" for Carsen as well, but never ended up doing it! We mostly wanted it for our walks versus crowds, since she tends to be clingy around crowds. She would have loved wearing it and having the leash case her though! She will often have balloons chase her around the house. So funny to watch and to hear her laughter!
