On Wednesday we said goodbye to Uncle Dallan as he went into the MTC, and then a few hours later went to the airport to greet Aunt Kendra fresh from China.
Kylie didn't know what to make of the moving escalator. I don't think she even knew that it was moving!
After picking up Aunt Kendra we went over to Temple Square to see the lights. It was really cold, but the lights were very pretty. We also went to the City Creek Center for dinner. Kylie's favorite part was playing in the play area. (Of course). She just ran around to every toy while Grandma Shari followed her with her camera.
Thursday, Friday, and Saturday we spent with Grandma Tess. Uncle Tommy was in and out, seeing as he had a lot of concerts this week. We did get to go see him perform on Friday night in a play and he sounded very good! Kylie didn't come with us, though. She had some Grandma Shari time instead. Grandpa Pete was also in and out because he was photographing the same concert Tommy was performing in. On Saturday Kylie had lots of Grandma Tess time while Brandon and I went Christmas shopping. We also got to see Uncle James when he came in from California! Yay! More people to play with! All this playing wears Kylie out like crazy, though.
On Sunday we went to Brandon's parents ward again, and this time Kylie stayed the whole time and went to nursery with Grandma Shari. She had so much fun!! She really enjoys playing with kids and imitating them. Sunday evening we went back to my family's house and had dinner with them. My Aunt Kathy and Uncle John were also there and it was nice to visit with them.
Monday was our big day: Christmas Eve. We woke up to beautiful snow falling and couldn't resist getting all bundled up and going to play in it. Kylie just dived right in and and started wandering around the yard. She would stop every so often and dig with her hands. Go figure that as soon as I turn off my camera, she face-plants it. It was hilarious!
Then Aunt Kendra came out and played with us! Kylie slid down a small hill on her bottom (good thing we had several layers on!). I think she might really like sledding.
Aunt Kendra also taught Kylie how to eat snow. She liked to eat it, but eventually she would just take a bite and spit it out.
After a good nap we went to visit Great-Granny and Great-Grandpa Knudsen. Great-Aunt Connie and Great-Uncle Larry were also there. Kylie was still kind of tired (she didn't get as long of a nap as she needed) so she was a little fussy, but she did enjoy the presents she was given!
Our next stop was at the Naylor side Christmas party. Kylie managed to get a little nap inbetween houses, so she was able to actually enjoy the party. Once again she just loved playing with all the kids and toys that were there. Aunt Kendra gave a presentation on her trip to China, and Kylie modeled the outfit she gave her. She is so adorable in it!! She looks like a little Chinese Santa!
After a wonderful party we came back and had our Knudsen family Christmas!! Even though it was 10 at night, Kylie was still awake enough to enjoy opening presents. Well, not really the opening part, but the playing with presents part she really enjoyed!
She got so many fun toys and cute clothes! She is at the age, though, where she can just open one present and play with it for a while.
For awhile her favorite toy was just sitting in this box. The simple joys!
All the girls showing off their jammies.
It was a big day and Kylie crashed at 11 PM (yay! That is actually early for her this week...), and on Christmas day we will have another big day with the Hansen side of the family!
