Conversations

Once again we had a busy week!  Although, with the rate Kylie is going, every day is busy.  She is constantly going at top speed and hardly pays attention to something for more than 10 minutes.  One of her favorite things to do that I mentioned last week is her 'Spaceship' walk.  All I have to do is make a certain noise and she is off!

Another thing she loves to do is play with the keyboard.  Originally we had it sitting on the floor so it was easy for her to play with - she even knew how to turn it on and off when she needed to, but hitting the keys wasn't nearly as fun as standing on it and jumping, so now she only has regulated keyboard time.  And even our supervision won't stop her from climbing up on it...

Whenever we venture outside, one of the first things Kylie does is run over to a bush that has these little berries on it and picks them.  And picks them and picks them and picks them.  Until finally I break off a branch and she can carry it around the neighborhood with her.  It is tough getting it away from her, though.  She will hold onto it for dear life. Even when playing her whistle.

Bath time is still a fun time for Kylie.  She has recently discovered laying down on her back and having the water cover her ears.  Once she starts doing that, she won't sit up at all.  But that is ok, because she has a perm-a-grin on her face the whole time.  She must love the way things sound under water.

Kylie also had her very first experience in nursery at church this week.  She seemed to do very well, and the adults in there were very impressed with her dancing skills.  Hopefully we can sneak her in there a few more times before she turns 18 months.  We also happened to stumble upon story time at the library this week.  Unfortunately I don't think she is old enough for that.  After sitting on my lap for ten minutes she got used to the atmosphere and wanted off.  And getting off my lap meant she was going to run around the room and talk to every body and touch everything.  So we didn't last long!  Kylie's verbal skills are going great.  She just loves to speak gibberish, and I noticed this week that she will talk, and then look at me expectantly like she is waiting for an answer.  So now Kylie and I will have conversations and she seems to enjoy them immensely!!

  1. Wow nursery already! That is my new calling in the church. I am over our nursery. She will have to come to our ward sometime and come and play with me in the nursery. Can't wait to see you all next weekend.
