Now that we are back home we have fallen back into our old summer groove. Luckily, though, it is starting to get a teeny bit cooler in the evenings, so we have started taking walks and letting Kylie ride her trike outside more. She has been loving riding it inside, but there is really not much room, so she was gets very excited to ride out in our neighborhood. She is so good at pedaling now, and has finally figured out how to steer!
Kylie is definitely growing taller now. She can now reach the light switches, so now it is her self-proclaimed "job" of turning off and on the lights. Something else she has learned: how to take the lids off my scrapbook markers. For weeks she was content just to carry them around. I suppose I was playing with the fire letting her play with them - obviously it was a matter of time until she figured how to open them. Then earlier this week when I went to get her out of her crib in the morning, I found both her and her teddy bear covered in gold metallic marker. I don't even know how she got a marker into her crib! Luckily it washed off easily. A few days later I was sitting in her room waiting calling to her to come and get her diaper changed. I should have been more curious as to why she wasn't answering for the longest time; I finally went and got her and found the lovely picture she had drawn on my TV:
Thankfully that washed off as well, but now my markers are all in the deep recesses of a closet out of her reach.
On Saturday we had our ward party. It was water themed - right up Kylie's alley! Her favorite activity was a giant waterslide. Brandon went with her several times. Unfortunately Kylie was too small to make it up the ladder/stairs by herself, so someone always had to go with her.
After going down with Brandon, a girl in our ward, Jenni, was nice enough to take Kylie down the slide a million more times, until she was shivering from being cold. Kylie sure had fun, though!!
