The Sweet Things in Life

Summer is in full force down here in Southern Utah.  Basically, if we go outside, we go swimming.  Or we melt.  Kylie has no problem with this.  She loves swimming.  As I have said before, she just loves to kick around in her new floatie we got her and is a happy camper.  In fact, this week we have hardly held her at all in the pool.  She is fairly good a maneuvering herself about in the water and has 10 times more fun because she knows she is doing it all by herself.

Kylie and I baked cupcakes this week!  Normally when she "helps" with the baking I just have her hand me things and maybe help with stirring.  Maybe.  This time, though, I had everything out on the table and she helped me completely.  She put the cupcake liners in by herself.  She opened the box of eggs by herself (breaking 4 in the process... oh well, I knew there would be some casualties), poured in the measured oil and water and cake mix.  Then we got our spoons and started mixing.  Of course Kylie doesn't keep it in the bowl, so my table is covered in batter, and even though I try to get her to try some, she won't.  Overall, we had a lot of fun together, and Kylie really enjoyed the final product.  Especially when I got around to icing them.

Nothing else really notable happened this week.  We read, we sing, we dance, we color (but mostly eat crayons), we jump on the bed.  All fun stuff.  We did get Kylie a little table to go with her chair we got her a while back.  It is great for snacks and puzzles and books.
