Fireworks and a Visit From Grandparents

On Pioneer Day we decided to do some fireworks.  We missed the fourth of July, and Kylie isn't up late enough to see the big fireworks done by the city.  At first she didn't know what to make of them (and really, they didn't do much except smoke a lot), until we lit a screamer.  I was holding her, and I didn't know it was a loud one, so I jumped, and that set her off.  She started crying and would not let me put her down for the rest of the night while we were outside!

We were lucky enough to have Grandma and Grandpa Knudsen stop by to and from their trip to Las Vegas.  Kylie had so much fun with them and I am sure that they loved every minute of it.

We also got her dancing real good - and my favorite part of this movie is that you can see Grandpa Gary dancing in the reflection of the TV :)

Something that Kylie has been doing recently:  Stuffing her mouth to capacity and then spitting it all out to fit more food in.  Oh man, it makes for fairly messy meals... just when she was getting good at not getting food everywhere...

Also this week Kylie seems to be abandoning her afternoon nap completely.  We are working on five straight days now that she hasn't taken it.  Although, I wish she would because come 5 PM she is very whiny and hard to please because she is tired.  But!  Something good has come from it... she FINALLY slept all the way through the night!  Just once so far, but it made me very excited.  Kylie is also getting harder to entertain.  She seems to always want what I have, and she has already taken to throwing tantrums if I don't give it to her.  So I am constantly having to come up with new activities to keep her occupied so I can do little things like brush my hair without her screaming because she wants the brush.  (Sigh)  This only lasted a few minutes, but it was so funny watching her figure out how to free her hands from the socks:
