We had lots of fun playing with family that Kylie has never met before. And it didn't matter where she was, she would just run around and explore and get into everything she possibly could! Brandon picked a lemon at my Aunt Cathy's house, and Kylie tried it and seemed to like it! Despite all the sour faces.
The beach where we were staying at wasn't very warm, though Kylie still loved watching the waves there. So on Tuesday we went to Santa Cruz where it was sunny and warm and played at the beach. Even though the water was still cold, we couldn't keep her out of it! She kept running from the edge of the beach straight into the water, over and over!
After we figured she was cold enough from the water we decided to play in the sand. She got nearly completely covered in sand! All thanks to Brandon, who decided to cover her.
Kylie even learned how to do a little sun-bathing:
On Wednesday we went to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Kylie liked looking at all the fish, jelly fish, otters, birds, sea horses, and tons of other undersea life.
Though, nothing compared to the little kids area where she could just run around and play.
On Friday we went to my cousin Brandon's house where we played with his son Jack (who is about 6 months older than Kylie) and swam. Kylie had fun following Jack around and playing with his toys, and also swimming with Uncle Tommy.

On Saturday Kylie and I went shopping with Grandma Tess. We made a pit stop at the kids area in the mall, and Kylie had fun tagging alongside other kids and learning what all the toys were for. I really love watching her interact with other kids her age, she had so much fun and just loves watching and playing with them!
Saturday night was my cousin Nicole's wedding, which, unfortunately for Kylie she didn't really enjoy all that much. She had had about 20 minutes of sleep that day, and was just extremely tired, but couldn't fall asleep because of all the excitement around her. Poor thing. So we stayed for the wedding and dinner, but then went back to our hotel before the reception and we both zonked out at 7:30 for the night. We got lots of rest for the long ride home on Sunday. Kylie slept about a third of the way home, and I had the honors of keeping her entertained for the many long hours she was awake. We were basically in the car from 9 AM to 10:30 PM with a few breaks. Phew, glad that is over with!!
Now that we are back home we are trying to get back into the groove of things, and hopefully the good sleeping habits we had before we left will come back now that we have some stability. We thank Grandma Tess, Uncle Tommy and Grandpa Pete for putting up with us for 9 whole days! Now, on to what I am hoping is a less hectic week!

It sounds like you had a great trip. I loved seeing her on the beach. She is just really growing up fast. I loved the face she had when she ate the lemon. That was priceless. Glad you all had fun.
