Halloween

What a fun holiday week we have had!  It feels like I have been anticipating Halloween for the last few weeks, and now that it is over it is a relief.  On to the next holiday!

On Wednesday we carved our pumpkin.  Kylie didn't think much of playing with all the pumpkin gunk, but she enjoyed pretending to "carve" the pumpkin.

Thursday was Halloween and it was definitely a fun filled night.  Our family did Adventure Time themed costumes.  Kylie was Fionna, Brandon was Jake, and I was BMO.  Kylie looked so cute all dressed up, and she did very well keeping her hat on.  We went to the ward party, where they had a carnival for the first hour.  At first Kylie was hesitant to try any of the games, but after about 15 minutes she found her favorite game, some weird one where you get to throw stuff, of course.

Kylie's other favorite game was the one where you get to kick a ball.  And she loved getting all her prizes!

After the carnival was dinner where Kylie ate a bunch of Fritos and chili.  One of the prizes she got was a whistle, and she insisted on whistling the entire time, especially if she heard somebody else's whistle.

Then came the trunk-or-treating.  This year Brandon took her around so I got to sit down and hand out the treats.  Man, are there a lot of kids in our ward!  Kylie didn't even blink twice when she came around to me again, she just took some candy and and kept going around.  Haha, it is so funny how 'in the zone' kids get when it involves getting candy.  After she was done and checking out her haul, she was still trying to take candy from our bowl and put it into her pumpkin.

On Friday Uncle Tommy was in town for a marching band competition.  We were able to go see him perform. Kylie was excited to see all the bands play and she enjoyed clapping for them.  She was also a very good popcorn moocher from the people sitting behind us!  We were lucky and got perfect seats to see Uncle Tommy lead the band and were able to go talk to him afterwards for a few minutes.

Something funny Kylie has been doing all this past week is that she has been acting like a dog.  She will crawl around and bark and pant, and even play fetch where she picks up the ball with her mouth.  She has also been watching a lot of 101 Dalmatians, which is probably very influential!  Kylie has also been insisting on drinking out of cups normally.  It cute to watch her do something so grown up!  But she still has the urges to stick her fingers in it, or dump it out, or stick food in her cup... but there is no way to get better at this unless we practice!
