Little Photographer

We have been enjoying some great autumn weather this week!  We got to play outside a lot this week and went to parks and took lots of walks.  Kylie really loves being outside as we all know so she has been having a blast.  We took her to Pioneer Park on Saturday; she loves going there.  All we do is follow her around while she climbs all over the red rock and then I watch Brandon freak out and pick her up when she gets too close to an edge.

This week Kylie has discovered the camera on my phone.  Normally she just sits and watches all the videos of herself, but now I find at least a hundred new pictures on my phone everyday.  I think she just likes the sound it makes as it snaps a picture.  So this week I had to sift through literally hundreds of shots of her forehead and the floor to find a few gems.

She is improving every day, though.  Sometimes she actually tries to take a picture of something.  Like the cat.

And sometimes I try to photobomb her little selfie-session, but usually she just laughs and stops taking pictures when I pop into view.

Although once she actually did take some pictures of me... and even played with the coloring on her own too!

On Friday night Brandon had a scout campout, and usually when he goes off camping Kylie and I go out on the town and have a girls night out, but we decided (or really, I did) to stay in that night.  And it was a good thing that we did!!  We got a surprise visit from Great-Grandma and Grandpa Naylor as they passed through on their way to California.  Great-Aunt Lisa and her daughter Jessica were also with them, and Kylie just was so excited to have people to visit with and show-off for.  She was so sad to see them go, but we really enjoyed their spontaneous visit!

After their visit we continued our little 'girls night in'.  I had her tent set up and we watched a movie and had some dinner, which she ate in her tent.

So overall we had a fun week.  Kylie is continually testing her boundaries, and it seems to be getting a little out of hand.  She knows the word 'no' and what it means and what we want her to do, but suddenly she is completely ignoring what we say and continuing whatever it was that she was doing.  If we remove her from whatever it is, she just laughs and goes straight back to her naughty business.  Unfortunately her 'naughty business' usually includes being mean to the cat (sitting on him, pulling his tail, etc.).  Our cat is so nice that he just takes it, or growls at her, but he doesn't bite or run away and hide, so it makes it hard to remove the temptation.  Sigh.  Hopefully one of these days the lessons will sink in and she will start listening to us again...
