We had a pretty fun week! First off we finally figured out our Halloween costumes for this year. We went to the Halloween store and Kylie had fun running around and then it wasn't so fun when Brandon made all the freaky Halloween decorations move. We decided to do Adventure Time costumes this year. Kylie actually really likes that show, and she is going to be so cute as Fiona. Now we have over a month to get her used to wearing her hat:
She doesn't like her hat as much as she likes Brandon's costume hat though:
We got to play with friends a lot this week. On Wednesday we had a playdate with Kennedy and Acadia. Kylie and Kennedy just had the best time playing 'kitchen' for the longest time. It was so cute to see Kylie put food in the microwave and push the buttons, and put food in the cart and push it around as she follows Kennedy. The best part, though, was near the end when she started taking the muffin tin out of the oven, saying "hot" and then blowing on it, and then wiping it with the little kitchen towel. I was so entertained just watching those two use their imagination and play together!
We have also been taking evening 'bike rides' - which is really just Kylie riding her trike as fast as she can to the grassy area and me jogging and trying to keep up. She is so fast on her bike now!! She is always attracted to any kids or dogs that we run into, and this week we met Taft, a nearly two-year-old, and they played together for awhile. It was funny, because he had a little pull-along dog that Kylie just had to have, so when he wouldn't give it up, she takes him over to her bike and pats it, indicating that he could play with her bike if she could play with his dog. It worked! They were both happy and playing with new toys.
On Friday Brandon had a scout campout, so I decided to hit the town with Kylie and have some fun. We drove clear across town to this little pizza place I like, only to find out they were closed. Forever. Sad! Since I had already gotten Kylie out of the car we decided to just go next door to Panda Express. Kylie really likes the broccoli there (she ate all of ours), and then proceeded to spoon feed me Fried Rice. It was lots of fun, even if most of the rice ended up on the floor...
After dinner we went over to the town square to play in the water. Kylie really enjoyed the splash pad this time and also a talking to all the babies she saw. Afterwards we rode the carousel several times before I had to drag her away because it was getting late.
On Saturday morning we deep cleaned the kitchen and then painted our nails. I love how girly Kylie is sometimes! Somehow, this day, Kylie didn't take a nap, so when we went to her friend Sophia's birthday party that afternoon she wasn't in a very partying mood. She had a one track mind (gimme a balloon and cupcake. STAT) and after an hour was basically whining at everything. So we didn't stay too long. But she totally made up her sleep that night and slept over 13 hours, which resulted in us skipping church on Sunday.
Something that has been really annoying me lately is Kylie's reliance on pacifiers. She always has to have one!! Especially to sleep. I have been trying to only give them to her when she is going to sleep, but somehow or another she ends up with one all the time. How in the world do I get her to give them up without her reverting to sucking her thumb? Sigh. She even sucks two at a time sometimes...
