We've had an interesting week. The first half was our normal routine, and Kylie got over her sickness. On Wednesday we had a follow up with the doctor to see what was causing it to be so bad, but he said her results came back normal so there wasn't anything really to do for her that I wasn't already doing. But things seemed to have cleared up on their own, so, happy day!
Kylie got ahold of my book on Wednesday, and she would periodically sit down and read out of it throughout the day. It was funny to see her nose buried in Jane Austen.
As always, she likes to do everything the cat does, so when we were putting a box over his head, Kylie had to have one on her head as well!
On Thursday evening we packed up and made our way north. Kylie entertained herself almost the whole way by watching videos of herself on my phone (her new favorite form of entertainment). We stopped in Provo to visit with Grandma Tess, Grandpa Pete, and Uncle Tommy for and hour. Kylie is quite the entertainer. Then came the sad part, well, at least for me... Brandon and Kylie continued up to Grandma Shari's and Grandpa Gary's while I stayed behind. I spent the weekend with my family in California attending my Grandpa's funeral, while Kylie stayed with Brandon at his family's house. It was my first time I had every spent a night away from Kylie!! I was nervous, but Brandon did great without me, and Grandma Shari helped out a lot with Kylie.
It seems that she slept well, even asking for naps and going to bed at night! And I am sure she was very entertained by everyone and everything. Grandma Shari took her to feed the ducks and play at the park and had a good time with her.
They also went out to eat at Culver's and got to see Uncle Jordan working. I love this picture Grandma Shari got - it's still rare for Kylie to give a good smile for the camera!
We brought Kylie's bike up for the weekend as well. It is her most favorite thing in the world, so we figured she would have fun with it with Grandma Shari and show her how well she can ride now!
On Monday I got back to Provo, and Brandon and Kylie came back and played with Grandma Tess. They played some baseball in the park and Kylie also rode her bike for her. Then we all went to the Provo splash pad which Kylie loved! Grandpa Pete got some great pictures of her enjoying the water:
She played until she was shivering! We dried her off and Grandpa Pete even took a picture of her crazy hair.
Then Brandon, Kylie and I packed up and drove back home! Our trip ended up being an hour longer, because we had to stop and get all our tires changed (unexpectedly!), but luckily we did it in Scipio, so we spent the time at the petting zoo right across the parking lot from the tire store. Kylie loved watching all the animals, and got so excited every time she fed a horse some hay (which she did for 20 minutes straight...)
Now we are home safe and sound and ready to get back into our normal routine!!
