Halloween!

This week was a nice week after last weeks cold front.  We played outside every day!  I just wish we had a park closer, but when we do make the drive to a park Kylie just loves it.  Even when we are inside Kylie has taken to always looking out the window.  The cat joins her, and when she tries to get up on the ledge like the cat, she gets upset :).

Of course, our big day this week was Halloween!  The first year that Kylie actually got to enjoy it.  We carved a pumpkin, and Kylie played with the ooie-gooie mess, and even tried some pumpkin seeds.  They weren't very good!  But better after I toasted them.

While carving our pumpkin, we watched a Halloween show - Nightmare Before Christmas.  Which Brandon argues is a Christmas movie... but we won't go into that.

Kylie eventually got a piece of the pumpkin itself, and ate half of it raw.  Mmmmm.

Then we got all ready for the Halloween party at the church.  Kylie was Minnie Mouse this year.  She was absolutely adorable.  And once I got her treat bucket in her hands she forgot about her ears so they actually stayed on most of the time.

Brandon also decided to go all out and dressed up as the person who blew up like a giant blueberry on Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.  Well, that wasn't his intention, but what else could he be while looking like a giant blue person?  Kylie didn't like him dressed up like this at all, though.  It took her a couple hours to be comfortable being next to him while he is all blown up like this.

In our neighborhood hardly anybody goes trick-or-treating anymore.  It's all about trunk-or-treating.  Not as fun in my opinion, but definitely more safe I suppose.

Kylie did very well with trunk-or-treating.  At the beginning, though, I had to give her a piece of candy otherwise she would stop and try to open up whatever someone gave her.  After she got a sucker in her mouth she was a happy camper and was perfect at taking one piece of candy and putting it in her bucket.  She just loved watching all the other kids go about and play as well.

Checking out her haul

Kylie definitely loves candy!

The rest of the week was a lot more tame.  Kylie's sleeping schedule has evened out a bit (thank goodness!) and teething seemed to have been the reason for last weeks disruption.  Kylie has several new canines poking through!  All the better to eat her Halloween candy with!  Hahaha!  Yesterday Kylie turned 16 months old!  I can't believe how old she is acting already.  She is such a smart cookie.

  1. Love the Halloween pictures. Tell Brandon we watched the same movie for our Halloween movie and then Kelsey had friends came over and they all watched that same movie also. Definitely a Halloween movie. Kylie looks so cute in her costume.
